I had a friend come over and laughed hysterically when she saw my antique glue gun. Frankly, it never occurred to me to get a new one.
But then it happened, I was in a store and saw a CORDLESS glue gun [insert angelic chorus here]. I broke down and bought it but you want to hear something funny? I haven't had a need for a glue gun since. Figures ;-)
